Amber Rice MA, LMFT
With 12 years of experience in mental health services, I specialize in counseling those serving our communities, including medical professionals, first responders and teachers. These careers draw highly compassionate individuals who experience their share of burn out, fatigue, and other unpleasant experiences unless they receive the support they need. In these cases, I view the experience of countertransference and vicarious trauma as simply opportunities for us to lean into a course of healing. I am here to support you in that process.
I have extensive experience providing therapeutic support to adults, children and adolescents suffering from the effects of trauma. My approach is drawn from Gestalt, Existential, and Post-Modern modalities. It is my belief that, not only can we learn to cope with suffering, but thrive and live out the full potential of our lives.
In addition to facilitating the healing process related to infidelity, sexual abuse and trauma, I welcome clients wishing to discuss sexual expression, polyamory and ethical non-monogamy. I support clients of all genders, identities and backgrounds addressing confusion regarding their sexuality, who are learning to experience the empowerment and freedom that arises after addressing this critical component of our lives.
I see you. I hear you. This is your journey, at your pace, with your goals in mind. You are the expert on you, and I am only here to help you remember that. You are stronger and more capable than you know. I see you, behind the shame and hurt. I see you, radiant and resilient, and will join with you regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, or gender. I see you, when you can’t. Let’s bring you back to yourself!
